"Great Rumble" tenses the paradoxes surrounding the naming of the tupanvirus, a giant virus discovered in an alkaline water lake in Mato Grosso. Its name would be a homage to Tupã, an entity from the Tupi-Guarani cosmology. Composed of visual and sound symbologies, the work reflects on the power of language and the hierarchies between scientific and mythological discourses.
Through the sonorization of the prophecy "Tupã will be reborn in the foreigner's heart", in which Tupã will wake up the non-indigenous hearts, the sound art also expresses the viral potentiality of the invisible presence and the resilience of beings and myths. The melody, performed through the voice of the hummingbird, Tupã's messenger, suggests a multi-species and cosmological alliance between organisms and entities.
