Filmed in the semi-arid Brazilian Sertão and a rice-growing village in Nantan-shi (Kyoto, Japan), this work intertwines the impacts of the Great Drought in northeastern Brazil, which prompted the artist's family to migrate to southeastern Brazil, and the replacement of native forests in various regions of Japan with sugi trees during the Second World War. By narrating local relationships with the land and metaphorizing different forms of desertification, the artist draws a connection between the sunburn of the semi-arid region and the burning effect caused by freezing snow, interlinking distinct landscapes through the shared resilience.

Long Long-duration performance + installation in collaboration with seeds. Inspired by Yumi Arai's, which explores origins and life cycles, Anais-karenin extends the concept of origin beyond humans, relating our existence to plant seeds and grounding it in ecological systems. The act of care is presented as a collaborative gesture between species. In dialogue with the materials, the artist enters a process of constant transmutation, attuning to the invisible, spiritual, and ecological layers of existence.

Series of performances centered around interactions driven by the sensorial effects of medicinal plants. Each action is driven by a garment crafted by Anais-karenin using herbs, culminating in an ephemeral installation. Initially activated by the artist, invited collaborators later carried out the performance.
